Student Financial Aid Policies

The following constitutes our agreement with regard to proposed changes in our financial aid program.

  • The University’s Financial Aid Office is responsible for administering all financial awards and scholarships.  No offer of financial aid will be honored until it has been officially confirmed by the Financial Aid Office.
  • McMurry Institutional financial aid will be awarded up to a maximum of 120 total credit hours of enrollment.  Institutional awards are 8 consecutive semesters provided students meet satisfactory academic progress requirements.  Institutional based awards require full time enrollment.  Students who do not need 12 credit hours remaining to complete their degree in their final semester will have their institutional scholarships pro-rated. For example; if a student is enrolled in 9 hours grants and scholarship will be reduced to an hourly rate based on 12 hours; $4000 award divieded by 12 equals $333 an hour times 9 equals a $2997 award.
  • Institutional Aid—is all scholarships and grants in which McMurry University determines student eligibility and awards to the student students.
  • Students with extenuating circumstances may appeal the loss of their Tuition Equalization Grant (TEG) or McMurry Institutional scholarship by completing the Financial Aid Appeal Form.
  • Endowed Scholarships- Returning students may apply for endowed scholarships using the on-line Scholarship System to be found on their MyMCM Student Page. The selection criteria will take into consideration such factors as potential academic progress, financial need, and prior academic successes.  The values and number of recipients vary from scholarship to scholarship.  The recipients will be selected by Reviewers made up of faculty and staff. Recipients will be required to write thank you notes for the donors who have generously provided the funds for the scholarships.
